Using the Templates
Pre-requisites
- You will require Microsoft Power BI Desktop installed on your computer. External Link
- In order to use these templates, our Power Bi connector must be downloaded and installed first. The connector is available here: Integrations > Microsoft Power BI Connector
Using a Template
- Download desired template
- Open template file - this will open Microsoft Power BI Desktop.
- Enter your EMT customer and project credentials when prompted.
- (optional) Use any optional parameters as desired, e.g. date ranges for data to be returned.
- Sign into you EMT account when prompted, using the 'Anonymous' sign in option.
If you are setting up a company/project wide report, you may wish to set up a generic project user with the necessary permissions within your EMT project, and connect using this user. - Click 'Connect' after signing in.
- The report will now load in your project data.
- Save the report as a .pbix file, with a relevant name.
- You can now make any changes you may require to the report such as additional visuals or other project data sources.
- The report is now available locally, but you can also publish it to an enterprise Power BI service if required.
