Measurements
How to create measurements your point clouds in ATLAS

Ensure you have watched the Navigation Tutorial o familiarise yourself with the ways to open and load a Point Cloud or Model in ATLAS.

Navigate the Point Cloud to the desired area or location.

One the right-hand side, select the “Measurements” icon.
- From the pop up bar on the bottom of the screen please select the type of measurement, either “Linear” or “Area”.

Once “Linear” measurements has been selected, please click the “settings” icon , and select the axis. Z axis for height, X/Y axis for length and width.
- Once the toggle has been highlighted for the correct axis, please click the Close button.
- To create a measurement, select a point within the point cloud and draw a line, click again to end the line measurement where desired.
- The measurement will appear next to the line, stated in metres.
Area Measurements

Once “Area” measurements has been selected, please click the “settings” icon , and select the X/Y axis.
- Once the toggle has been highlighted, please click the close button.
- To create a measurement, select a point within the point cloud and draw a line, clock again to end the measurement where desired. Continue this process for the entire area.
- Each measurement will appear next to the line, stated in metres.
Measurement Management
- To manage the measurements created, please select the drop-down arrow for the left hand side.
- To manage the measurements created, please select the drop-down arrow for the left hand side.
- To assign a label to the measurements created, the select the “Save” icon above the measurements. This is a free text field. These labels can be viewed by any user within the project/team/environment, so please ensure the label is descriptive.
- Measurements under the label can be viewed/hidden by selecting “View” icon (include image of icon).
