Smartgrid Editing
How to Update Your Asset Records Directly via the Smartgrid
- To update data via the smartgrid for existing assets, navigate to the desired asset class, either by searching and locating the class within the table view, or by selecting the class directly from the asset tree.
- Once the class table is open, before you can update any data, you will need to activate a changeset.
- If you already have a changeset created, you can select it from the changeset drop-down, otherwise you can create a new changeset by clicking create changeset.
- Once a changeset is active, you will be able to edit the data within the table.
Any changes made within a changeset are work in progress and not visible to the wider project until the changeset is published (see changesets...) - Upon updating an asset record, the asset will become locked to the active changeset, meaning that other project users will not be able to update the same assets until the changeset to which they are locked is either published, or rolled back.
- After making an edit you will see a ribbon message appear above the table, notifying you to refresh the table to see the changes.
Upon doing this, changes made will be highlighted;- Green for new data
- Yellow for changed data
- Red for removed data
- Once you have completed your data updates and are ready to share your changes to the wider project, you will need to publish your changeset. (see Change Approvals).
