How to access and browse your point clouds in ATLAS

Please see below the two option to navigate and load Point Clouds within ATLAS:

  1. From GIS Interface:
    1.1 View your point cloud data polygon within the GIS View
    1.2 Click within a polygon, and select “Point Cloud” to open and load the file
    1.2 The point cloud will stream onto the platform. ATLAS navigates on zoom, plan and rotate.

Scroll = zoom
Click and Drag = pan
Crtl with Click and Drag = rotate

First person mode
Click and Drag = change your line of site
W = move forward
A = move left
D = move right
S = move backwards

1.3 Utilise the details panel to change the styling of the point cloud or any of the action buttons on the right-hand side
1.4 To exit the point cloud, select the exit button to return to the home page

  1. From Browse Data:
    2.1 Select "Browse Data”
    2.2 Locate the point cloud you wish to load and select “Zoom to”
    2.3 The point cloud will stream onto the platform. For greater detail, please zoom in
    2.4 Use the details panel to change the styling of the point cloud or any of the action buttons on the right-hand side
    2.5 To exit the point cloud, select the exit button to return to the home page

  2. Styling
    3.1 Styling options can be found within the details panel.
    NB. For non RGB clouds, we recommend turning on the EDL shader
    3.2 Increase the point size using the slider on the details panel

  3. Navigation for Linear Point Clouds
    4.1 For linear point clouds, scroll the route with and the adjacent clouds will automatically stream and load. You do not need to open separate point cloud files
